About Dedicated Solution
An IT partner who knows your situation, rather than a helpdesk that knows your ticket number.
How it started
Since 2010. What began as a hobby that got out of hand, taking computers apart, building networks because it was possible, helping friends and family out of trouble, became serious enough to start training for it. Diplomas and certifications followed, Microsoft, MikroTik, Ubiquiti and Ajax, and then the first customers who paid for it. Later it was brought under Dedicated Solution B.V., which still runs it today from The Hague.
That beginning is not just an anecdote; it explains how we work. Someone who got into IT because they wanted to know how things work goes looking for the cause when something breaks. Someone who got into IT because there was a market for it replaces the box and sends the bill.
Who you speak to
Dedicated Solution is Armand Dharamsingh, with a regular circle of partners who join in where specialist knowledge or extra hands are needed. So we are not a company with a reception desk and a department that passes things along.
That is exactly why customers stay with us. You do not have to explain your environment to someone new every time, and the person who built your network is the same person who answers when something goes wrong. For larger projects we scale up with partners we know personally and have selected ourselves, never a subcontractor we have never met.
Support runs on working days from 09:00 to 17:00, with weekends by appointment. We would rather say that honestly than make grand promises about 24-hour availability.
What we are certified in
Not “certified” in general, but in these four: the brands we work with every day and whose training courses we have completed.
Microsoft
Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint and the management of workstations and users.
MikroTik
Routers, firewalls and network design: the work under the bonnet where slow or insecure connections come from.
Ubiquiti
Access points, switches and wireless links between buildings, including Wi-Fi that keeps its range throughout an entire building.
Ajax Systems (Ajax Pro)
Alarm systems and security, linked to the cameras and the network rather than as a separate box alongside.
That is the difference from a computer shop: anyone can get a workstation running, but the firewall, the network and the security underneath call for something else.
How we work
Look first, then act.
We map your current situation and set out the options, with what each option costs and delivers. You choose.
The cause, not the symptom.
We track faults with a monitoring system. If something keeps coming back, we solve the underlying problem.
No hidden costs.
In the Haaglanden region the on-site diagnosis is free; further afield we are happy to make you a tailored proposal. Anything after that is agreed in advance, and our rates are published on the site.
Home users and businesses.
What they have in common: you want it to work, and you do not want to have to figure out how it works. That is our job.
Work we have done
A selection from practice. We do not name customers without their permission; that is their decision, not ours. Want to know whether we can do something similar for you? Feel free to call.
Network, Wi-Fi and cameras for a childcare centre
The situation. A new location without a network: no cabling, no Wi-Fi that reached the whole building, and cameras still to be installed.
What we did. We set up the network, split the traffic into separate networks so guests and cameras cannot reach the workstations, and positioned the Wi-Fi so it has coverage everywhere in the building. We then handed it over with an overview of what is installed where and what it is connected to.
Firewall and network design for an education partnership
The situation. One flat network in which everything could reach everything, and staff who needed secure access to their systems from outside.
What we did. We reconfigured the firewall, divided the network so each part only sees what it needs, and restricted outside access to what actually had to be reachable, and no more.
Two buildings linked wirelessly
The situation. Two locations that had to work as one network, without a digger and without paying for a second line every month.
What we did. A wireless link between the roofs of both buildings, aligned and measured, and then added to our monitoring so that we, not the customer, notice if the connection degrades.
A management environment brought back in-house
The situation. The environment used to manage all the access points and switches ran somewhere the customer could not access the controls themselves.
What we did. We moved everything to the customer's own server, including the history, without the equipment having to be reconfigured. The customer now owns their own management.
From scattered OneDrives to one shared environment
The situation. Files were spread across everyone's personal OneDrive. Whoever left took their documents with them.
What we did. We set up a SharePoint environment with a clear structure and permissions per group, moved the existing files across, and showed people where everything is kept from now on. Documents now belong to the organisation rather than to an account.
Shall we get acquainted?
Tell us what is going on. We take a look, tell you what we think, and only then do we talk about what it costs.
