Internships at DS-BV
Learning on the job, with customers, with real networks and real faults.
What you do with us
We are a small company, and that shapes what an internship looks like here. You will not sit in a department with twenty others working on a practice assignment. You go out to customers, get your hands on real equipment and install things that are actually used afterwards.
That also means something is expected of you. You talk to customers who know little about technology, so you need to be able to explain what you are doing without jargon. You are tidy in someone else's home or office. And if you do not know something, you say so; here that is not a weakness, it is exactly how you learn.
You work with network equipment from MikroTik and Ubiquiti, with Windows and Microsoft 365 environments, with camera systems and with cabling. What exactly you do depends on your course and on what is going on during that period.
We are looking for someone who
- is studying IT (Dutch MBO or HBO level)
- enjoys visiting customers
- is tidy and punctual
- can explain things in plain language
- dares to ask about what they do not know
What you will work on
Networks
Setting up and measuring routers, switches and Wi-Fi at customers in the The Hague region.
Workstations
Installing computers, setting up Microsoft 365 and helping users get started.
Camera systems
Thinking along about positioning, mounting and configuring, including explaining it to the customer.
Support
Picking up requests in our ticket system and talking to customers.
Maintenance
Updates, backup checks and the small things that prevent big outages.
Customer contact
The part you do not learn at school, and the part that matters most in this profession.
