IT consultancy, contracting and staffing

Short of capacity or expertise on a project? Hire us by the hour, by the half-day or for the duration of a project: on site, hybrid or remote.

For agencies that are short-handed, and for businesses without their own administrator

Two kinds of clients hire us. The first is an IT consultancy or staffing agency that has won an assignment for which nobody is free at that moment. The second is a business without its own system administrator, but with a project that has to be finished: a migration, an office move, an upcoming audit.

In both cases the question is the same: someone who knows the work, gets going straight away and does not need three weeks of onboarding. We work in the same environments for our own customers every day, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, firewalls, backup, so getting up to speed is usually a matter of explaining what things are called at your place.

What we do not do is act as an employment agency. You do not receive CVs of people we do not know ourselves. You get us, and if the work is not a good fit for us we tell you so; in the long run that is cheaper for everyone.

In a nutshell

  • By the hour, half-day or project
  • On site, hybrid or remote
  • Second and third line, no call-centre work
  • Advice on its own too, without implementation
  • Our own tools and our own laptop

Four areas of expertise

Below, for each area, is what we are asked to do most often. Is your question not listed? Feel free to call; you will know straight away whether it is something for us.

Cloud and Microsoft 365

From setting up an environment to tidying up an existing one. It usually starts with the question of where something is stored and who has access to it.

System administration and infrastructure

Day-to-day management and the layer underneath: servers, network and the certainty that you can still get to your files tomorrow.

Security and compliance

Security that goes beyond a virus scanner, and the paperwork a customer or insurer asks of you.

Migrations and projects

Work with a beginning and an end. A date, a plan, and a handover someone else can carry on with.

How do you hire us?

Three ways, and you can mix them. The most common is a fixed day a week that is temporarily extended during a project.

Ad hoc hours

You call when something comes up and pay for what you use. Handy for advice, a second opinion or an afternoon's job. Charged by the hour at our rates.

Fixed half-days

A fixed half-day or a fixed day a week, on a structural basis. You know when we are there and we know your environment. Most of our long-term partnerships run this way.

Per project

A migration, an office move or an audit programme with an agreed result and an end date. A plan beforehand, a handover afterwards.

Frequently asked questions about hiring us

Do you also work through a staffing agency?

Yes. We regularly work on assignments that run through an agency, under that agency's terms. A non-disclosure agreement and a non-compete clause for the duration of the assignment are no problem.

How soon can you start?

That depends on our current schedule. Call or email with the period and the number of days you are looking for; you will hear the same working day whether it fits. We would rather say no than fill an assignment halfway.

What does it cost?

Hiring us is charged at our hourly rate; the amounts are on the rates page. For a fixed day a week or a longer project, we agree a price in advance.

Do you work on site or remotely?

Both. Most management work is done remotely; for installations, office moves and the initial onboarding we come on site. Our service area is on the service area page.

Do you take over management afterwards?

We can, but there is no need. A project can end with a clean handover to your own people. If you would like us to keep managing things, that runs through an SLA.

Do we always get the same person?

Yes. That is exactly the point of hiring a small company: you do not have to explain your environment to someone new every time.

Need extra capacity?

Let us know what the work is, for what period and at which location. You will not get a three-week tendering process, but an honest answer on whether it fits.
