SLICD Rotterdam: a complete IT environment, from the cabling up
SLICD in Rotterdam was renovating its premises and wanted everything in place on handover: a stable internet connection, Wi-Fi for staff and visitors, telephony, building security and a modern office environment.
Approach
- Installed and neatly terminated structured cabling, giving every workstation, the access point and each camera a fixed connection.
- Deployed a MikroTik router and firewall at the core of the network, with separate networks (VLANs) for staff, guests and cameras.
- Set up business Wi-Fi with a separate guest network. Guests get internet access, but no access to company equipment.
- Installed three cameras on their own isolated network, with recording and secure remote viewing.
- Connected an electric door opener.
- Set up VoIP telephony with a desk phone and a mobile handset.
- Configured Microsoft 365 for email, calendars and files, with two-factor authentication on every account.
Result
SLICD was able to start work immediately on handover, with a single partner for everything: from the cable in the wall to the phone and the mailbox. Guests and cameras are kept separate from company data, and the network can be managed and updated remotely.

WMXL Delft: a secure network for staff, guests and cameras
WMXL in Delft had its premises fully renovated and wanted a reliable network on handover, where staff, visitors and security cameras each have their own place without getting in each other's way.
Approach
- Ran new cabling to workstations, access points and camera positions.
- Deployed a MikroTik firewall with separate networks for office, guests and cameras, opening only the connections that are genuinely needed.
- Provided Wi-Fi coverage throughout the building, with a separate guest network for visitors.
- Connected six cameras to their own isolated network, with secure remote viewing.
- Set up VoIP telephony.
- Configured Microsoft 365 and secured it with two-factor authentication.
- Migrated the website (internwmxl.nl, including its web shop) to our own hosting, so that it too sits with a single point of contact.
Result
After the renovation, WMXL could carry on straight away with a stable, well-secured network, and has a single point of contact for network, cameras, telephony, office software and website. Most issues can be resolved remotely.

VAN Kroonjuwelen: a new website and professional email
VAN Kroonjuwelen wanted a professional online presence: its own website showing what the organisation stands for, and business email on its own domain name.
Approach
- Designed and built the website in the VAN Kroonjuwelen house style, easy to read on both phone and computer.
- Structured the copy, imagery and contact options so that visitors quickly find what they are looking for.
- Hosted the website on our own servers, with an SSL certificate and regular updates.
- Configured Microsoft 365 with email on the organisation's own domain, shared calendars and cloud file storage.
- Secured email with two-factor authentication and the correct DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), so that mail does not end up in spam and is hard to spoof.
Result
VAN Kroonjuwelen now has its own website, www.vankroonjuwelen.nl, and business email that arrives reliably, with a single point of contact for both.

SecuroNova: Microsoft 365 securely configured and email protected
SecuroNova works in cybersecurity and holds its own environment to the same high standards as those of its clients. Its Microsoft 365 environment needed a professional set-up, and its email needed better protection against phishing and spoofed senders.
Approach
- Reconfigured Microsoft 365: users, licences, shared mailboxes and permissions all put in order.
- Enforced two-factor authentication on every account and disabled legacy, insecure sign-in methods.
- Tightened email security with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, so that no one else can send mail on behalf of securonova.nl.
- Configured protection against phishing, spoofing and malicious attachments and links.
Result
SecuroNova works in a Microsoft 365 environment configured to current security guidelines, and spoofed mail in the company's name is blocked. DS-BV and SecuroNova also work together on security scans and reporting for clients.
